Mortimer & Gausden Estate Agents

There is no question that the property market is slowing down but that has not stopped us from selling a good volume of property at encouraging prices.

The key to any property sale is to start off with the right advice. Having been in the property industry for many years (around 60 combined years to be precise!) Andrew Mortimer and Ian Gausden have worked in all types of housing markets - through boom times, recessions and back again!

As long standing members of the National Association of Estate Agents Ian and Andrew’s experience is also backed by a knowledge that goes far deeper than many other agents. They can provide you with an accurate FREE VALUATION which is of course completely free of obligation. This will ensure the very best outcome for your proposed move.

The Mortimer & Gausden Team or ‘work family’ have all been in the industry for many years too, so whenever you need honest professional advice, it is always only a phone call away.

As we head towards Winter the property market often shows signs of slowing down and we tend to use this time to catch up with all our other jobs in the office and start preparing for the New Year which can often be a much busier period for sales.

Whilst nobody has a crystal ball, most experts predict that the ongoing recession will start to play a much larger part in the state of the property market throughout 2023

Selling properties when the market is strong is fairly straight forward but when things get tougher choosing an agent who has years of experience is bound to pay dividends.

All our valuations are conducted by either Andrew Mortimer or Ian Gausden who are both long standing members of the National Association of Estate Agents and have a combined estate agency experience of nearly 60 years between them – so they know their stuff!

This year we are using some of our office space as a collection point for 2 local charities: The Bridge Community Church Food Bank & The Bury Drop-In Charity for the Homeless.

Please bring in any non-perishable food items or toiletries that you are able to donate - we will then make sure they reach the people who need them most.

Food: Cereal, pasta, tea, coffee, sugar, soup, jam, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, pot noodles, tinned meat etc.

Toiletries: These will be donated to the homeless so smaller pack sizes are best, shower gel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, wet wipes etc

We are collecting up to 21st of December and would welcome any donations

In times gone by, people always assumed that the property market didn’t start until the Spring and ended before the onset of Winter. In truth, recent years have demonstrated that the property market enjoys good levels of activity throughout the year. There are a couple of important dates which might surprise you.

According to Rightmove Boxing Day and New Years Day can be some of the most active days for people starting their search for their next home.  Perhaps it’s a combination of people having time off work and the opportunity to plan for the year ahead that makes these days such important dates on the property calendar – but either way, having your property launched for sale on these days can be very effective.
